Bang average video editor. Generic man with a film podcast. Avant garde political thriller.

“Great hair” - Jon or Edward from Jedward.
“Hasta lasagne, don’t get any on ya”

BUT WHAT FILM IS IT FROM!

Road to Perdition just started on ITV. Top tier work from Thomas Newman whose score is incredible. Arguably Sam Mendes’s finest work too, with a look, tone and vibe that’s absolutely perfect. Such a great movie.

Oh no what a shame…

I wonder what @happytoast.bsky.social makes of this incredible display of butchering a classic from Bronski Beat and Marc Almond. Sheesh. #totp

Alison Hammond spending a weekend with Mel B and making a TV show out of it. Pure joy.

Just had yet another business cock up a really simple ask due to an AI booking system.

It’s all such an obvious scam.

Overhearing a conversation on the tube between a father and his young son about who will win in a fight between a sabre-tooth tiger and a T-Rex, is a great way to start the week 😂

Still thinking about that Paul Giamatti episode of Black Mirror. Just exquisite stuff.

I said in the FYR End of Year Spesh that this was one of my most anticipated of year. Yes he’s made greatness before, but I genuinely think Lee is in his golden era. Stoked to see reviews like this.
Spike Lee’s HIGHEST 2 LOWEST is both a wildly fun crime thriller and an incisive metaphor for how the director and his star Denzel Washington continue to creatively move through the industry. I love it.

Lee isn’t setting out to copy what was great before. He is using the past as a starting point to launch what may be the final phase of his career.

Truly bizarre public voting overshadowed what was a truly fantastic Eurovision. Have it for the semis but bin it for the final, it’s never not a complete farce. France, Malta and even the UK were completely screwed.

What a fantastic end to the season for English football. 3 domestic trophies won by 3 different teams, 2 of which haven’t won anything for ages. Brilliant for Palace. A great club.

The internet is just a never ending cycle of people reading things the wrong way and getting really aggy about it.

Can someone from The FA teach these League One officials the offside rule? Because that is absolutely ridiculous.

There’s hitting the nail on the head, then there’s this. Absolutely spot on. And also really sad.
I'm procrastinating, Stancil is getting dragged over it, and the Rewatchables podcast guys finally covered it, so I guess it's time for what I hope is my last thread ever on Star Wars. Let's do this. 🧵

There was a guy in my college media studies class who took umbrage with pretty much every single film ever made, except this one. Astonishing film.
Dog Day Afternoon (1975) Directed by Sidney Lumet

If the Jedi were so desperate to hide Luke from the Empire, why did they let him keep the name “Skywalker”? 🤔

My hot Star Wars take is that there is only one genuinely bad film. The rest are either amazing, or include enough amazing bits to be at least rewatchable.

I’ll let you guess which one the bad one is…

Salah is amazing, Liverpool are without question deserving and well worthy champions….but that selfie celebration might be the worst thing I’ve ever seen in football.

Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant.
‘SINNERS’ overperformed official estimates and actually opened to $48M domestically.

Biggest opening for an original film this decade.
