That’s spooky (pun not intended).

I just had this pop up on my Bluesky feed. Yesterday was the 71st anniversary of when heaps of Glaswegian kids went hunting the urban legend of the Gorbals Vampire with sharpened sticks.

I’m back in my happy place. Torridon. If I could package & sell the seratonin and dopamine boost this place gives me, I’d be a rich man.

But I reckon I’d just give it away to nice people instead.

Beautiful Spring and Summer brings with it a downside. Come Autumn, when ferns, bracken, gorse, trees and bushes are soaking wet, negotiating narrow trails becomes akin to a fully -clothed, Russian Platza massage.

I’ve been working in this building for about seven years. This is the first time I’ve noticed this.

For your consideration, Iain M Banks’ lazy gun?

Liberal application of Smidge, midge net hat and lots of flapping arms, you’ll be grand.

Interesting to calculate how many midges it would take to drain the blood of an adult male though.

I just remember seeing this photo illustrating an interview with him in Guitar For The Practising Musician magazine (around 1990, about the time of A Little Ain’t Enough release) and thinking it was the coolest guitar I’d ever seen in my life.

The view as you approach the edge of the Sgor Gaoith summit is quite stunning.

Took yesterday off and cycled the Sgor Gaoith loop. Low cloud at the start but sun broke through as I climbed the steep section before Carn Bàn Mòr, and from then on it was blue sky the whole way.

They migrated briefly but then went back. Shame really, it’s a nice place here - no ads, no clickbait. Guess the number of followers was too big a prize to leave.
Not much of a consolation, but have a photo of the start of the Achnashellach descent in Torridon to brighten your day.

There may be arguments against this but none of them hold water.
