You can actually get an entire Young Tableaux from any permutation via the RSK correspondence, the first row of which always corresponds to the LIS. If you do this to a uniformly random permutation, you get a nice limiting shape, see figure of arxiv.org/pdf/math/990...

Yeah, that sounds like a good strategy! Maybe there's some other maintainer or contributor that can help out and perhaps mediate once that happens?

the timing of those switches is entirely erratic. It even hits just the right frequency range where ANC headphones struggle the most
