I'd argue it is the I/P issue more than anything, hence why Iran exploits it.

As would settling the Israeli-Palestinian issue, which drives so much of this and was treated by both Trump and Biden as something you could ignore via the Abraham Accords scam.

Problem is Dems interpret voting for them as a reward and don't reflect on what's wrong hence why they're dismissing real grievances from progressives, Gen Z, et al as they did in 2016. It took losing for them to slightly figure it out in 2018 and 2020.
