I just crocheted the entire sleeve of a cardigan before realizing I missed instructions to increase at the very beginning. This is gonna be the worst game of yarn chicken ever since I literally can’t go buy replacement stuff with Joann’s liquidating.

I woke up this morning with just a deep sense of dread and anxiety, and as more and more stuff came in about the inauguration (which I didn’t watch because I didn’t want to have a meltdown and didn’t want to give it any viewer numbers) it makes sense why I was/am feeling that way

I am neurodivergent and always had a really hard time making friends. TikTok made me feel like I could be one of the girlies without judgement or secret jokes at my expense. When my disabilities took theater from me, I found cosplay and a whole new family there. This is gutting.

So it looks like TikTok is getting the axe for real for real (though that might change in the next few days again, who knows) and I’m finding discoverability on all other current apps to absolutely ass. Does anyone have any tips for figuring out algorithms, how to find community/move followers over?

I need to get up and do stuff around the house but it’s so cold in here. “Turn up the heat” you say - no. I won’t. I go from freezing cold to passing out from heat in .5 seconds.

They’re banning TikTok not because it harvests data, the same way US social media does, but because they can’t influence it’s algorithm with congressional hearings or government contracts the way they do every other tech giant. That’s it.

I know I’m a baby streamer and therefore the target audience, but if I get one more person chatting in my channel and then after like ten minutes of talking they say ‘hey I see you’re affiliate and your stream is going well, why don’t you have more personalized graphics?’ I’m gonna MCFUKIN LOSE IT
