Sometimes when I struggle with stuff like that I find I have to make myself get started and just hope it moves from there. Maybe try a new environment, or a new medium!

Copic are good but expensive, artist loft are cheap and just okay, ohuhu are somewhere in the middle. You can get more subtle and buildable colors with copic, some sets of AL or ohuhu have much more vibrant colors.
