UK based primary care doc here. our first line if renal function suitable in uncomplicated (lower) UTI is 3 days of nitrofurantoin 100mg modified release bd. cefalexin mainly reserved for upper UTI or for allergies/intolerances. are we keepin it cheap and cheerful or missing a trick?

labour being tory-lite seems to be a tad pointless so why not try being labour for the time they have left in power. They have an opportunity, time to use it to do some good.

in the end the economics will drown out the politics. Coal is the past, it was a crucial part of industrialisation but it’s time is coming to an end. You cannot fuel the future with a limited resource and, hopefully soon, the ability of the coal industry to buy political favour will end.

at this point ‘thoughts and prayers’ are the equivalent of the ‘dog ate my homework’. I think they should post pictures of themselves on their knees actually praying if they are going to say it. At least make it true rather than a euphemism for ‘sucks to be you’.
