Seems the industrial demand for silver is skyrocketing (the solid state ev batteries that get 600+ mile range use a kilo of silver per pack) Selling a lower mintage at a premium probably gains them attention too.
I have no libertads either. Just some old silver pesos. Maybe I’ll start collecting.

A few reasons:
1) overproduction with the 2024 and lower demand than expected.
2) excessive increases in industrial use (solar, EV, weapons, etc)
3) using those two previous reasons together: planned scarcity to drive up demand for future years.
It’s more complicated than that, but that’s the gist.
