frontpage.fyi, skyfeed.app, deck.blue and whtwind.com are some big examples. Some folks have also taken to hosting their sites and blogs through the capabilities it provides. Generally I just think it's fertile ground for cool things

The world's a crazy place at the moment. Don't be afraid to disconnect and take time for yourself, having your ear to the ground 24/7 isn't great for anyone's mental health.

For home stuff, for work reasons I'd totally just keep to my own lane. Like, I run Fedora Atomic as a daily driver and use stuff like, for one example, Podman for development purposes. I love the tools, I just rarely use them for actually "cloud native" stuff if you get what I mean

Maybe, but if you have any reason to avoid them at all then consider it a blessing in disguise. They're genuinely insidious companies.

There's something about hosting companies like GoDaddy and Squarespace that gives me the ick, aside from the myriad of reasons they're terrible.
