I'm pretty sure recording ability was mostly standard on minidisc players too. Every unit I've played with could record audio which I always thought was neat.

I'm glad others like yourself are keeping the minidisc legend alive. I wish the format took off more in north america. Sony did a surprisingly good job with the compression. Not quite PCM CD quality but sounded pretty darn close if you ask me.

I don't think there is much difference aside from looks. In the end both work just fine. Although staying with the floor model might be better if you might need the remaining rack space for something else down the road.

Nice setup there! I like the location you chose that gives easy 360 degree access. Do you think you'll grab a rack UPS someday or stick with the floor model?

This was a little while before the price of retro game systems started to go crazy. The same store would now have that in their locked display case for something like $90. I'm gonna keep a note of that dongle if I decide to go that route!

That's an awesome mod. I found that model with the controllers at a thrift store around 2012 for about $15. Been waiting for some component cables to appear there since, but I think I should go with the HDMI route now.

The only part in it that started to fail was the original spinning drive a few years back, that I used for general local storage. The SSD and everything else still works fine. The 4930k was nice back in 2014 but I really need to move on from it soon.

Seeing that setup reminds me how much I need to replace my main PC. I'm still using the one I built 10 years ago, and long overdue to replace it.

That's a pretty nice setup. I really like the desk too. Large simple desks with a ton of workspace are my favourite.

So cute!

I just don't understand why I see so many people doing this nor the point of it. Your data is still there with them forever anyways. Big tech only marks such content as deleted, and doesn't actually delete it.

The content.

Why remove everything, all you're doing is giving your account's API to some questionable 3rd party service. You could just leave a note saying you're inactive on it.

Increased costs too. The cost of flights generally become higher when you start booking last minute.

I used to aim for 6 months minimum before the event dates. Though I've never operated a lottery system before, as I was never a fan of them. So I'm not sure exactly what they are doing here. All I know is I'd never accept opening reservations 2 months in advance for any event I would organize.

I used to do these negotiations for 3 other conventions for quite a few years. The guestroom and function spaces were immediately assigned to me every time I singed a contract. That is the point of it. I'd love to sit down in person with whoever did this and ask them, why?
