How does the inclusion of this (speculative) detail about the suspect’s partner serve the public interest?

Something a bit queasy about the framing of Scotland as a theme here. Is it really beyond the powers of the BBC - as it moves cultural programming up here - to have a Scottish guest presenter/producer? Loads of cringy and weird chat about Braveheart and Trainspotting could have been avoided🙄

Reading this popular genre of takes shows how many smart people are still living in a bygone era. Pointing out the hypocrisy of a movement intent on dismantling rights smacks of debating society smugness. The double standard *is the point* and the racial, gendered, class lines are barely concealed.
