...How so? The only changes I remember were a statue being removed/covered up and a certain microwave incident being removed from *later* versions of the NES ROM. In earlier copies, you can traumatize Ed just like in the computer versions.

If the regime had any sort of competence, yes, but Tweedle-dum and Tweedle-dumber made their qualifications clear from day one.
I have faith that, somewhere out there, some FBI and DOJ employees saw this coming and ensured that there's one more clean copy of the files in some drive or drawer.
