Adult barred owl sitting on tree branch looking down on me very closely because not pictured are its two juveniles who are learning how to bird. The owl has lots of brown stripes on beige feathers. It has prominent feather disks around its eyes and an understated yellow beak.

A real waterlily on really still water, seen at the Chicago Botanic Garden awhile back. 💜
Bright purple waterlily with multiple petals, a yellow ring in inside, and purple stamens clustered in the center and spread out. The back ground has a black shadow on dark grey water.
