Jack had been super demanding, Alana was trying to get him to do hot yoga, and Hanni refused to give him his recipe for fish pie. He felt the anger rising up and let it out. "DUCK!" He screamed. Then shook himself. That word was way less cathartic than the one he'd been aiming for. Will glared angrily up at the Author. "Duck?? What the duck? Dammit. You know what I'm trying to say."

I don’t have any in front of my apartment but I love all the roses I see in my neighborhood 🌹
A wide open hot pink rose with its yellow pollen-y middle completely visible. It’s in a tangle of green and yellow-green leaves. A medium-pink rose with a cluster of petals in the middle and lovely large petals around the center. The pink is a warm tone but not a salmon or coral. The leaves are a uniform middle-dark green. A deep red rose with tightly clustered center petals. The red is a velvety deep red with brighter red at the edges of the petals. Medium green leaves and the lower window of a building in the background. An intense lipstick red rose with a few outer petals that are almost spiky. A few of the outer petals have some darker streaks. It’s atop a rather tall but narrow column of leaves in a medium-dark and medium-light green array of leaves. A basement window can be seen behind it.

Encarta ‘97’s encyclopedia on CD-ROM was one of my favorite things ever. I could learn a little bit of a bunch of languages, learn facts, listen to clips of music including Soundgarden. No ads because it was already bought and paid for.
