Queer (2024)

Queer pierces the heart with its surrealist dance of dark comedy and raw emotion. Mukdeeprom's cinematography captures the fragile elegance in Lee's (Craig) broken attempts to move forward. Like the reviews said, Craig burns a hole in the screen.

Anora (2024)

Another cathartic masterpiece from Sean Baker. Spectacular third act. The final scene was a haunting conclusion that encapsulates the movie's deeper truth. Mikey FUCKING Madison is a STAR.

Spotlight (2015)

Methodical storytelling about such a venomous subject matter. The film captures the psychological toll of investigating a huge scandal while maintaining the focus on the actual painstaking process of journalism. Loved that the film let the quiet reactions talk. Amazing cast!

Arrival (2016)

A movie that bends both mind and heart. A masterpiece about a profound truth: courageous are those who accept the path they're walking and find the strength to live it fully — joy, pain, and everything in between. Adams delivers her finest performance yet.

Nomadland (2020)

Fascinating exploration of life by the incredible Chloe Zhao and Frances McDormand. Don't know how to explain it but this film strikes primal chord that resonates throughout the entire runtime. Easily one of my all-time favorites.

Juror #2 (2024)

Put this in the movies-you-watch-on-the-plane bin. They casted JK Simmons to do absolutely nothing. What a waste! Pretty bland ending too.

Thelma (2024)

Adored this movie very much. Wonderful performance from June Squibb! Celebrated its rather sensitive subject matter with genuine enthusiasm and pure joy, and it doesn't feel forced at all. There's a scene near the end that will stick with you long after the credits roll...

Heretic (2024)

Loved the performances (especially Chloe East's!) but third act was... dead on arrival. Felt absolutely limp and lazy #to #me.
