It is better to do both because there is also the possibility that ICE will raid polling stations and deter or outright arrest voters for "interfering" with immigration enforcement.

People should vote by mail and plan to also vote in person if it looks like the mail is being tampered with or seized. As long as your mail in ballot has not been received, you can still vote in person on election day and they will simply reject your mail in ballot should it arrive anyway.

Isn't that the point? Republicans are focused on progressives rather than standing in solidarity with Iranians. Iran doesn't exist to own the libs. It's a real country with people who want freedom.

Do you have any state specific ideas or candidates you'd like to elevate?

This is the 4th post like this I have seen from you today. Maybe you could just block people or restrict your reply settings? Most of your followers, like me, are not out to get you.

Billionaires are the directors of our economy and the backers of our politicians' campaigns. You think the debate should be about whether billionaires are annoying or not. I think the debate should be about whether they are governing our country well and if there's a better alternative.

AI has turned many humans into bots that post the words "AI slop" on every single post they see, especially if it's a post of something made 10+ years ago, or a post by a well known artist or author that doesn't use AI, is explicitly anti-AI, and who live streams their work for proof.

Is the goal of licensing here to increase police interactions with cyclists or to just discourage cycling in general?

I recommend, "Nudge theory and gambling: a scoping review," by Fortier et al, for an overview of better literature than the casino design book.

Nearest USPS job opening to Aplington is in Cedar Falls, a 33 min drive one way, paying $21.21. As a CCA you have no hours guarantee, you'd have to pay 35% of your healthcare premium, and you are likely to get fired before getting "career" union protection with NALC. Also, you need a new roof.

If it were the other way around, and we were buying more advanced chips from China, we'd all be saying that we're dependent on China and need to ban foreign designed chip imports so we can build the capacity to make them ourselves. If it were any other product we'd think selling to China was a win.

Identity plays like S. 4361, "the Border Act of 2024"? Incredulity that bipartisan legislation to drastically reduce the rights of asylum seekers was torpedoed by Trump so that he could institute even more draconian and in many cases illegal measures?

I think it matters that Trump has received bribes by many major US companies to do this alteration to the White House. I don't think preserving a specific design for the east wing matters considering in 1785, the year you mention, the east wing didn't even exist; it was built in 1942.

So we're talking party backing for the funding, organizing, and training of militias, right?

We should hold off on taking positions on Tylenol until we get good polling data about its popularity. We don't want dems to be the party of Tylenol and lose a senate seat because of it, right?

I'm impressed that it automatically checked the charts it generated and made corrections based on that.

Trump wants us talking about this. The military is one of the most popular institutions in the country. It is hard for me to see Jeffries successfully convincing Americans to fear the military and simultaneously inspire the courage to resist it but to do so non-violently. What a tightrope to walk.

Non-experts' hostility toward experts is so well established and common as a phenomenon that it has a name: anti-intellectualism. It's more than fair to have some hostility go the other way.

You had no problem blaming the prior administration for their handling of immigration matters.

I think that the people in swing stares that we want to hear this message will be unmoved, but lots of people on the left in blue states and cities will feel more comfortable getting the big truck they always wanted but thought was bad because of climate/safety/urbanism etc.

Bamboo is great. I'd rather plant native species, but they don't tend to survive let alone spread like bamboo does. It's better to have something non-native than to just give up on using locally sourced natural materials.
