I survived my first full day of work today. Don't know how I'm doing this, you guys. Is this what they call being healed? Where you're feeling nothing but fear, but you find yourself doing what you're doing anyway? Strange. Anyway, Zayne's event quest end made me cry, and then his post did too. 1/2

My character Celeste Asteri says, "Despite the unexpected events that took place during our journey. I know we'll reach an ending without regrets." Zayne replies, "Our journey will have no regrets. I seem to have hurt my own feelings this morning by channeling the grimdark that I'm seeing in the #lads main story - I'm just gonna eat chocolate over here, it'll be all right, right? Right. 😰

Most awful week in ages healthwise (don't hurt nerves, it's a bad time) so I'm sharing the thing that's kept me sane and eaten my brain in an extremely short amount of time.
My profile title is now "Zayne's Aurora" to let you know how things are going. I thought I was too queer for this game. Ha.

My Themis zine arrived this morning in the mail and it is a tremendous work of love and art. It was exquisitely put together and lovingly packaged, and was very impressive opening it up. @ffxivthemiszine.bsky.social I shall treasure this package always! 🤍

The shadow contrast seems so naturalistic to my eye now. Delightful. For anyone who doesn't play MMOs, what you're looking at is beautiful. The lighting engine upgrade happened over a year ago and I'm still discovering places where it continues to pay off.

Was perusing some old cutscenes tonight in-game and, well. I submit this is now one of the most beautifully lit scenes in the game. Ultra settings, DLSS, 7.0 textures. Chef's kiss. (Urianger's bone structure and my cute as a button catgirl sure don't hurt, either.)

It's almost a funny occurrence. Themis faces R'aileen, long white robes from shoulder to feet. He is on a stone path amidst Elpis' grass, several feet away from R'aileen. Behind him golden art deco structures in the room can be seen and one of the seats of the Convocation of Fourteen with its ornate red and gold decorative metal and upholstery. "I only hope that I can see you through the last of our battles. Until then, I will cherish every moment." R'aileen beams at Themis for his desire to be with her until the very end of his ability to stay in her time and with the living, for she very much desires the same. Her silver armor reflects the golden light of the room, art deco details shining behind her.

I just had the shittiest weekend - recovering from what I think was some kind of new food sensitivity that left me in so much pain I'm going to have to message my allergist about it. 😭 As a comfort I played something I hadn't in years and had a very wholesome, bittersweet experience.

I planned this all summer long. I just put in for account deletion. I was a member of Duolingo for 13 years. It's going to take them seven days to go through with the deletion but I'm done. I cannot support them any longer. I just needed to be ready. I'm sad but ready to move on.

More Danqing Island shots from this patch of Infinity Nikki. I love everything about this patch so much. Still trying to get the last colorway of the spirit cat set... 7/10 pieces. So close, yet so far.

There are times I play this game (Infinity Nikki) and I remember why I love it so very much (and why I save pulls like crazy for months at a time). This month's patch is about danqing (traditional Chinese ink painting) and the sets are dazzlingly beautiful.
