Further confusing matters is the fact that although the main character’s main language is depicted as English, in reality it really… isn’t- it would probably be something closer to a fantasy version of Hebrew or Aramaic.

-and these are mainly gods. But even with this conscious effort, I still slip up pretty regularly. At present, in a story 480,000 words long, including examples which came before I made that decision, and including the special exceptions I mentioned, the word “okay” still managed to pop up 93 times.
