I reckon people should learn not to use the us-east-1 region, which often gets new features first and consistently has major outages. Everything we have in eu-west-1 and ap-southeast-2 was working fine the whole time, no outage at all.

Haven't a lot of govt depts been squeezed by "efficiency dividends" for decades already? This squeeze and making govt less effective actually REDUCES our faith in government.
