Artist living off grid on a mountain in the jungle in Costa Rica. Reforesting a clear cut, building greenhouses and sculptures to live in.
This morning
we woke up to nine night blooming cirius, wild giant lily, shampoo ginger, flag ginger and the guaba tree in blossom again, sipping coffee on the deck surrounded in the flower scents watching a vertical rainbow form out of the ancient caldera. Happy weekend.

Big storms in this rainy season make a lot of leaves
and branches fall. The roof is designed in a spiral so that rain water spirals around the roof, into a chute that takes it to a big pot with an internal spiral, then out to the quebrada. We get more than 200 inches of rain a year.

This is how the Petaxte, which is a relative of the cacao pod, looks when cut open. There is much more fruit around the seeds. Unfortunately, unlike the fruit around regular cacao beans, the fruit of cacao which is delicious, petaxe fruit tastes lot like cantaloupe, which I loathe. ✨🤷‍♀️✨
