General transit and policy nerd, has opinions about a lot,
The Somerville Highland station reminds me of the old station buildings they still have at some of the stations in Newton along the D Branch of the Green Line.

I don’t think it’ll take too long for bike signal separation because it’s a relatively very simple concept to grasp. I do think there’s something to be said for requiring some sort of continuing education for drivers, especially for older/elderly drivers to close some gaps though.

Oh yeah Cambridge’s flex posts are rigid, nearly got taken down by one once on Mass Ave!

Not sure what you were expecting out of a motorsports game being made in 2025 then lol.

This'll be interesting, it's a good location generally, though I hope they have a queue jump on Riverside Ave and even at Wellington Circle to get past the insane traffic that can happen there sometimes. I do very much wonder what will happen with Lynn Garage-specific stuff though with this.

*north to west, not south to west.

I’d def take a look at Google MyMaps bc it offers a similar thing to what you’re trying to do in a dedicated application.

(I didn’t expect that to be so long sorry about that lol)

Also I’d recommend using something that creates a solid line because the crayon-like thing here makes it look like every intersection is at grade (and makes it really difficult to look at even outside of that).
August 12, 2025 at 3:21 PM
Well then the main issue Id see after that is that one of the south to west slip lane would not only require taking out the MBTA Charlestown Garage (which they’d def not allow) but also cutoff access for Routes 109 and 105 heading southbound from Alford Street.

Im entirely confused on the styling of this map because it’s entirely unclear where there’s grade separation and where there’s not. Also why are random key streets for this series of intersections not included? Every time I look at this I get slightly more confused
August 12, 2025 at 5:11 AM
How did you manage to make this intersection look even more confusing???

How was this photo taken/edited? It looks good but also weirdly like it’s a rendering of something and not actually taken IRL? Something just feels off about it.

Also, it’s an opinion piece by somebody who is notably not Sen. Cassidy and contains very little things that actually came from him. The whole piece is predominantly “[action], [result of action], [why this guy who clearly doesn’t care should feel bad about himself]”
June 16, 2025 at 2:21 PM
The article doesnt state at all that Cassidy himself feels sorry? It just kinda says that he should feel that way but then also says that now he’s just doubling down in a sense anyways. If anything it seems like this article is kinda advertising for him and also sane-washing to a large extent.

What are you on about? I take the MBTA daily and while it sure ain’t optimal, it functions better than transit in most of the US, and works well enough that you can rely on it pretty consistently, especially in the Boston proper.

How? Biking can and should be a complement to public transit systems all the time. In fact, if anything we should be encouraging bikeability and walkability in tandem with maintaining the transit system because it reduces the pressure on it while still diverting people from cars.

If the Mafia (and dysfunction surrounding it) won’t allow a bridge to be built, why would they allow a tunnel to be built??

if I remember correctly, cormorants are one of the few waterbirds whose wings don’t dry off naturally, so they actually have to sit in the sun to dry off (as they’re doing here).

I’m fairly sure Discord has a built-in feature for that? I know Snapchat definitely does.

MA (and Somerville particularly) is democratically held at every level of government - no excuses on that front.

The GOP is hard at work trying to build the Prayer Factory for sure.
