So Ratcliffe thinks foreigners have colonised UK. Well, that’s literally what he has done in #Iceland: he’s the biggest private landowner there, buys farms to monopolise salmon fishing. Farmers now his vassals, rent land from him. Re his cmt on UK immigrants: hypocrisy is the word that comes to mind

So, what’s the bright idea @financialtimes.com ?! Why wrap the paper in compostable wrap (great) and then wrap this horrible indestructible band around it?! 🤔🤔🤔
November 25, 2025 at 9:47 AM
@financialtimes.com I hugely appreciate the FT, my subscription improves my life! Some years ago the wrapping became compostable, wholly welcomed - but now, since ca 10 days, the bundled paper has a horrible (& unnecessary?!) INDESTRUCTIBLE PLASTIC BAND around it - why on earth is that done?!

Flateyri, Iceland at 22:45 - mulling over the UK results. Labour better do a reasonably good job the next few years- otherwise, they will create a fertile ground for the far right/Reform populists

YET AGAIN: Eruption on the Reykjanes peninsula! Started at 8am this morning, new crack just opened, on the outskirts of Grindavík, a fishing village- lava flowing into the village. Everyone evacuated at 4am, as familiar earthquakes started. - Probably a decade long series of events.
