Previously, our self-hosted instances relied on SQLite for metadata storage, which isn't suitable for production or high-availability (HA) setups.

This was a major limitation for users running SigNoz at scale.

Debugging distributed systems often involves manually correlating spans across multiple services, which is tedious and error-prone.

Trying to find a database error that originated from a specific frontend request is a common pain point.

Our previous query builder was a UI wrapper around SQL that lacked support for complex boolean logic.

For any query needing an OR condition, users had to drop down to raw ClickHouse SQL.

Finance: "Observability bill went from $2K to $23K. What changed?"
DevOps: "More monitoring..."
Finance: "Which services cost the most?"
DevOps: "I'd have to ask the vendor."

Most tools treat usage data like state secrets.

You get a bill and good luck figuring out why.

Join Ekansh from our team in 2 hours for a live session on our new trace operators: luma.com/teqt5evr

He'll demo the solution to a problem he faced himself: trying to find a database span with an error that originated from specific service w/o opening a million tabs.

Every engineering team has someone who's lived this nightmare.

Hour 1: "This documentation looks straightforward enough"
Hour 3: "Why are there 47 different config files?"
Hour 6: "Maybe I need to install these 12 dependencies first"

After 2 years and 80+ closed issues, Query Builder v5 ships with:

→ Google-like search (paste error messages, get results)
→ Complex boolean logic with proper precedence
→ Queries that copy between logs, traces, metrics
→ No ClickHouse SQL needed

But they're ready to show you Interactive Dashboards that actually work like you expect them to.
