The game droughts, the system being really slow, the YouTube guidelines, the filler spin-offs, the Zelda Wii U delay, etc.

People always get rose tinted about specific eras either because they no longer have to justify their hardware purchase while it was current or they were onlookers.
That, and what people perceive as unique now was looked at as intrusive and gimmicky (which it was in many ways).

Do you personally count Donkey Kong Bananza as a revival?
People want their hybrid console to have the power of a current gen home console while having the sleek profile of a GBA all for the low, low cost of $300.
At some point, opportunity cost has to come into play and you're going to have to cut back on one of these things.

Going back to something like Banjo-Kazooie, it's crazy how much that game asks of you to beat the game, as you need 94 Jiggies out of 100 and 810 notes to get to the end, and talking with the characters to do the quiz show.
In the age of instant gratification, that would just never be accepted lol.

It's interesting how much of a polar opposite DK64 is to Bananza in its handling of its collectibles, as it asks you to collect half of the total golden bananas in the game as well as collecting coins to get upgrades and colored bananas to even get to the bosses.

Sort of feels like everyone being back in Ultimate has been normalized and taken for granted since its release.
