Honestly surprised it hadn't already happened. Hollywood loves war stories, and the only video game aspect for the studios to worry about would be the plot.
That said, after how they handled Halo, I don't know that I'd trust Paramount with it.

I'd like to not to see one of my favorite directors become a massive disappointment by simultaneously supporting theft and actively undermining the value of work (as long as it isn't his I'm sure), but here we are.

This conspiracy nonsense needs to put to rest. If the Democratic Party had intended to prevent Bernie from becoming their nominee, they would have restricted him from running in their primary. He's an Independent, they didn't have to allow him to run. He lost TWO primaries. All on his own.

It's Disney's "quality over quantity" mandate (execs wanting less risk). Before that, Blade was being positioned to follow Dr. Strange and Eternals.
After Deadpool & Wolverine and Sinners, it's clear Blade is less of a risk and it sounds like the execs are more willing to get behind it.
