Always learning.
As someone who used Unity for many years on the free tier myself I do still silently judge games that start with the unity splash screen. Not for being cheap, but because clearly better options exist now (Godot).

Steam greenlight existed and was a really cool system but valve seems to have data that says they make more money if they allow endless shovelware on the store.

Until some mega corp comes out with something more to offer than "steam but worse", we're kind of stuck with our (relatively) benevolent overlords

Just to play the devil's advocate here, Just Cause 3 was really ahead of its time when it comes to movement and traversal. I wouldn't be surprised if BOTW took some inspiration there.

I haven't heard that comparison before but I can see it. I played a lot of Morrowind back in the day. BOTW does kind of feel like Morrowind meets GTA meets some kind of weird zelda-like thing.

It did cast a shadow but did it really do anything truly new? It kind of just iterated on existing open world gameplay in a way that worked really well.

Optimistic:
- doom eternal movement
- crossplay
- is BG3 AAA?

Pessimistic:
- micro transactions
- always online DRM
- FOMO

There is so much "magical thinking" in this space. It's getting really tiring to keep up with.

How is the battery life?

I love this game but found that it can be weirdly battery hungry on PC even when the game is "idle".

Make "foldy bird" for Emacs?

Who could have imagined it would be used like this?

Were you using all buttons/keyboard or a controller?

This stresses me out in ways I can't properly articulate.

That's a really neat idea

Use a sans-serif font and this looks exactly the way any good AI Slop site should.

What? You don't like using every front-end framework known to man at the same time?

Oh, the classic Williams "Fish Tails" table from '92.

This is a pretty fun one for sure!
