I haven't had a really good argument in a while, and I fear it shows in the gusto with which I've waded into this delivery vs home cooking debate.

Re-read the Kite Runner for the umpteenth time this holiday, as I’m teaching it again.
It’s still really good.

First time I truly felt like an engineer was the summer of 2018 when I took a Spanish class and the digital whiteboard was buggy, and after watching the normies struggle for 15 minutes I deduced there must be a button somewhere to press and I found it and turned it off and on again and fixed it.

As a non-native English speaker, I have spent a lot of effort to sound like an American. It was a way to be in the in-group in college. Going through this accent test that only requires you to read a couple of sentences was very interesting. It thinks I am swedish

I've shared this quote before but I'll share it again, as it's one I've been thinking about a lot as I've watched how our oligarchs have been behaving over the past few months.

For all my privacy-minded girlies in Texas and other weirdo places far too obsessed with our periods. Here's my shitty period tracker app with absolutely no third party tracking or data sharing and a one-step wipe button. Suggestions welcome. play.google.com/store/apps/d...

There is another batch of bad abortion-related opsec advice going around, so I'm just going to link to Digital Defense Fund's guide to abortion privacy, which is realistic, practical, and explicit in its threat models: digitaldefensefund.org/ddf-guides/a...

Ok, but seriously: anybody know how I can package my flutter app for iOS without having to buy an Apple computer? Like, I get it, Apple doesn't share, but in 2024 only being able to compile for iOS on iOS is ridiculous.

Forget "sparks joy". I moved apartments three times in the past two years, and it turns out I only wore that heavy sweatshirt once in that entire time???

Just got notified by my custom exercise app that I need to get off the couch and do 5 push-ups. Sharing so we can all suffer from my app-making hobby together.

Ah, #flutter. The mobile sdk that made everything hard easy, and everything easy hard.
Want to use secure your app using biometrics, or add gps tracking? Three lines and you're done.

Optimist: the cup is 1/2 full

Pessimist: the cup is 1/2 empty

Software Engineer: well, what was the user doing with the cup that it ended up like this? What were they trying to achieve anyway? Seems like a user error to me.
