Considering the news as of late and all the discussions on social media surrounding that, I think it is a good time to remind everyone that hate is not the answer to anything. We need more love and respect in the world.

There are a lot of reasons why I'm weird/unusual. One is that I don't like to receive gifts for Christmas, birthdays, Valentine's Day, etc. They feel so obligated. If you want to give me a gift, it should be for a weird reason, like because it's Tuesday the 13th, or humpday.

Today's pondering: Once you start getting begbounties, does that mean you're site is easy to find and secure enough that the only thing to find are info-level issues, or are those engaging in begbounties so incompetent that info-level issues are the only thing they are able to find?

I went down a mine that was abandoned in 1880s. Tough to find, even tougher to safely rig ropes to get in. Found many things including boxes of ancient gelignite mostly soaked and destroyed but a few intact - look at the name printed on it - Alfred Nobel himself 😍 epic find ❤️ time froze down here!

Our payment process believes they have fixed the period issue with our ticketing site. Apparently, they found an issue with how our account was configured regarding Mastercard acceptance and fixed it.

It should be safe to order your tickets now.

We have not been able to pin down the reason behind these random unexplained payment failures in our systems during our testing. We've decided though to open up ticket sales to everyone. So go ahead and get your tickets, if you get any issues, please send an email to info@bsidesreykjavik.com
For those anxious about getting tickets to our 2025 conference, don't despair. Tickets will be going on sale shortly. We are working out some kinks in our new ticketing system, then as soon as that is all sorted the tickets will go on sale. Remember this year is a two day event. bsidesreykjavik.com

I wrote a not so little blog article on how we can counter all this hate and division in todays society, with love, acceptance, compassion, respect and consent. It's about 5000 word, or about a 30 min read.

These conservative talking point about minimum wage is too high sounds like argument for slavery and are frankly disgusting. If you can't afford to pay employees a livable wage, you can't afford to have employees. This might mean your business plan is not viable.

Forcing users to accept a single algorithm is bad.

Having it be closed source is even worse.

The reason TikTok, X, and Meta keep their algorithms secret is not because they contain magic AI technology.

It's because they don't want anyone to see the control they're exerting over society.
