Finally get to hold @amithompson.bsky.social's book in my hands. I have wanted this for years as an avid follower of her oc work. It is so so pretty. It features a multi page sequence that was my longest yea boi ever. Holy shit. What an art book! Knight yuri forever.

Some of the most fun I had doing #FriendsAtTheTable postcards for #Palisade came from coming up with this medieval calendar with @notquitereal.bsky.social, where The Paint Shop did a historical/cultural back-fill on the Fabreal Duchy as part of The Adagio. Loved revisiting The Saints, too.
An illustration in the style of a medieval calendar, depicting an early version of The Divine Calendar from Friends at the Table's Divine Cycle. It features a big knight-like mech leading a strange parade, carrying a banner with the editor (fictional)'s name on it. The calendar is bordered with constellations, and above it are depictions of different rites on the calendar. A banner reads: Old Tales of The Dukes. Above that are depictions of fictional proverbs, also illustrated like medieval paintings.

Coming back with yet another #Palisade Post Card for #FriendsAtTheTable. My 3rd card of 6 was centered on The Figure in Concrete & The Broken Spoke, framed as one of many Alise Breka novels. The pulp novel framing, here, was designed by @badbucket.bsky.social, and was used on multiple cards.
The Figure in Concrete stands on a rocky outcrop. Russian Sage grows out of the rock and out of the Figure's body. The rock and the figure's belly are pierced by great rusted chains. The figure is breaking of the of the chains, sparks flying. Behind them stands a mech carrying an upright glaive. Their shield is massive. It's shadows are purple. In the pastel sky is shattering glass, The Witch in glass smiles on the left side of the glaive, the Devil's Two Front Teeth on the right. Chimera's Lantern is lit. The previous image is inset into a weathered pulp novel cover template. The title reads "Phyrric Shale" and it is by Alise Breka. A quote below reads "Tears falling on stone." It is home printed my RadiantAngel, the label reads.

Like the last one, the back of this postcard was the jewel case of the tape. Once again, I love making the design esotera on these and given that I was working with Conner, the absolute master of that kind of design, I really wanted to make sure I was able to deliver on it.

I'm back with this week's #Palisade #friendsatthetable post card, this time looking at the propaganda book-on-tape we built for the Frontier Syndicate, Exenchester March, City City and The Alter, intended to ape a sort of Randian art-deco aesthetic of self-aggrandizing, evil entrepreneurs.
On a beige background that imitates a mountain valley is a strange construction of futuristic nonsense buildings. On one reads the words "City City. Atop buildings stand 2 toyetic mechs of the same model. Behind the city is a profile of that same mech from the chest up. Behind the city on the left is a figure in a techwear suit with a head like a motorola razor and a halo of gold. Below on the right reads the title of this fictional audio book "Endeavor: Or, A Man For Himself, A Man For Us All.

I have been given the go-ahead to begin sharing #friendsatthetable #Palisade post-card work. While I work on my website updating it with that project, I'll be trickling those out. Aiming for 1/week.

These are in-universe propaganda books-on-tape. This ones designed around Gentian's Swordbearers.

Here are some Friends at the Table grunt suits I've done, The Ad-Arm Troop and the Zenith Fund Kosmos (Black Century).

It was Wonder Project J, which I didn't realize had such great cover art. I could not figure this shit out as a teenager. I sucked at it and gave up, but always thought it was cool.

In a sea of darkness, underlit by eerie green, a greencloaked figure kneels in the ripples. They offer a long sheperd's crook and glowling ball of greenish liquid to the lilac hands in front of them. Some old creature work from like 2015/2016. 3/4 of these were from the old Creature of the Week competitions on conceptart dot org back in the day.
A mottled purplish dragon lies in a field of flowers, where a statue of an old wizard and the head of a cow-like creature stand overgrown. In the background a column of cloaked soldiers approach. Looking up from deep under turquoise water, towers a three-headed creature with a hollow, latticed, snail shell. It dwarfs the fish and shark in front of it and opens its jaws wide, its helical tongue grabbing at schools of fish above it. A three-headed melanistic dragon. Zipper-like ridges follow the contours of its wings, spine and middle-head's horns. The middle head is larger and has more horns, it's side heads are hornless, but their lower jaws trail off into twin trailing lines of teeth that hang from the front of the mouth. A white and shiny biped with no eyes stands on the surface of a moon of some sort. It has four arms, the upper of which are long crab-claws. It has purple and red portions on its arms, legs, the centre of its chest and the upper part of its snout. It has a rounded crown of flesh and it has two small vestigial tentacles coming from its shoulderblades. It is backlit by a glowing rounded glyph.

Old Mech Commission, The Matter at Hand.
A rust-coloured bipedal mech holds a gauss rifle and a tower shield. Dust on the ground suggests it has pivoted on it's heels in an arc that is mirrored by electric discharge from discs on its back, thighs and heels. It's head is a disc and it is braced for the impact of two missiles.

In a rainstorm, two smallish mechs are overtaken by vast waves of pink coral. Behind them 3 streaks of light cut across the sky as The Notion executes an orbital drop. Apostalisian Fan Bing Bing with a pompadour and cape stands, as Marsalia D'Argent, in front of The Melodica, their own mech with huge shoulder batteries firing a barrage of missiles with mint green smoke trails. Behind this is a wave of colour, and behind that, a different version of the Melodica, it's shoulders overtaken with pink coral. It holds in its hand a glowing figure in a blue dress.
