status quo dems benefit from this as much as GOP. these people are colleagues before they are our representatives.

they had the ability to allow the shutdown to cont&then people would wake up to the fact that the reason they are suffering is cuz Republicans have been methodically dismantling safety net programs for the past few decades w/little pushback, revealing he system is inherently cruel & needs revision.

they would rather capitulate to their conservative colleagues than admit that the country desperately needs to move left and reinvigorate our social programs. they will have a winning hand and fold specifically because its more important for them to pretend to be taking the high road.

maintaining the status quo at all costs.

if they were to use the leverage they very easily had to make sure every day americans would rightfully blame the GOP for the shutdown, they would also have to give in to moving the party more to the left, and they won't do that under any circumstances.

sometimes I wish I could just like. talk to these people. mind meld and understand how they can be so shameless.

i dont think she's naive at all. I think she knows what she's doing, i think every single democrat in that room knows what she's doing, and I think it's very much on purpose that the only people who voted yes are the ones specifically not up for reelection.

OH yeah i totally get that-- i dont have a sound system I mostly just use my headphones or a bluetooth speaker i have because im an audio hardware pleb but that's a good flag. i also dont use alexa. so not a huge issue for me but i understand that friction
