I think my favorite thoery would have to be the Family Communication Patterns theory. It was really interesting to see how other people communicate within their family and what norms they have. We all had different responses and it was enjoyable to learn by reading them. #UTcommtheory

My biggest takeaway that was also enjoyable to learn about was, the fact that behind every communication interaction, there are noticable patterns and different ways people communicate because of the specific situation. #UTcommtheory

I think agenda setting is still relevant. Just based on my social media, one search can change everything brought up on my feed. One search on amazon suddenly pops up on my instagram. #UTcommtheory

A recent example of the media shaping public agenda are the videos of ICE agents making arrests. Because these videos are going viral, the public is being forced to pay attention to ICE’s tactics. www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou... #UTcommtheory

I don't follow any one person too closely, but if I had to pick someone to have a parasocial connection with, it would be Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey. Her character loves to keep learning and take risks which I can relate to. #UTcommtheory

Disney influences culture by showing idealized family life and values in movies like Moana and Encanto, while also simplifying different cultures for global audiences, shaping how people see identity and belonging. #UTcommtheory

I experience context collapse mostly on my social media. My teammates and I like to post fun things we do for other friends to see, but our coaches follow us and are on the same platforms. Sometimes I wonder how they'll react or what they are thinking when they see our posts. #UTcommtheory

AI has positively impacted my educational experience by becoming a handy study tool for me. AI has created flashcards, practice exams, and can breakdown questions for me which I have found very useful. #UTcommtheory

This summer, my team was introduced to 7 new members to go with our 10 returners. The dominant group, the returners, used assertive accomodation, to help the new group understand the standards of our program while also advocating for the needs of the newcombers to help them settle in. #UTcommtheory

This reminds me of when someone in class did something funny but it was our teacher's last straw... I would say Integration style because everyone has to stay composed as we were probably about to get yelled at... #UTcommtheory

I respond best to the participation approach because I value including multiple opinions and voices. The participation approach encourages collaboration and that is what makes effective and efficient group decisions. #UTcommtheory

I think of large hospital networks in the U.S. Many hospitals operate with a hierarchical culture, where decisions come from the top, and staff are expected to follow obediently. This type of culture often discourages openness, which can lead to burnout and frustration. . #UTcommtheory

One logos example I like to use is, "Studies show that students who sleep at least 8 hours a night perform about 20% better on exams compared to those who sleep less." This gives a factual argument opposed to an emotional one, for people who like the facts and statistics. #UTcommtheory

I strongly agree with the Media Multiplexity Theory. The people I am closer with, I tend to share many more posts and thoughts on various platforms opposed to the ones that I am not as close with, in which I barely communicate with. It seems that it is a comfort thing. #UTcommtheory

On Snapchat, people share personal struggles, expanding their privacy boundaries. CPM Theory explains this: when a friend shared about feeling overwhelmed, I became a “co-owner” of their info, unsure whether to respond or just respect their privacy. #UTcommtheory

Meredith Grey and Dr. Shepard's central dialectical tension is autonomy vs. connection. Meredith values independence and control, while Derek seeks stability and closeness. As RDT explains, their struggles show how relationships involve managing, not resolving, ongoing contradictions. #UTcommtheory

In elementary school during carpet time, a kid in my class announced to the whole class that he wet his pants. Of course, in a class of first graders the reactions were uncontained.

I would say I grew up in a consensual household. My parents had plenty of rules for my sister and I but as long as we followed them, gained their trust, and explained how we felt about them, they changed as neeeded. #UTcommtheory

I chose option 2, getting really close to my friend. She looked at me a little funny but immediately assumed I was going to tell her something really interesting. Many times when we hang out, we have meaningful and entertaining conversations and that is what immediately showed. #UTcommtheory

Recently during my volleyball match, the refs were making very poor calls. My "I" wanted to go up to the ref and tell him how I felt about these calls. My "me" knew that doing this would probably get me a card and negatively affect the team. #UTcommtheory

I find the socio-psychological tradition is the most appealing. It sounds cheesy, but I have always enjoyed psychology and sociology. With that, I find it very interesting how people can predict behavior and results based on the careful observation of a person. #UTcommtheory

Based on the table, it depends on the theory. For scientific, I think its explanation of data to show why events happen. For interpretive, I would say understanding of peeople since a big reason to why we do things is based on the actions of other people. #UTcommtheory

I would say I am more drawn to the interpretive approach. I think of it as, being an extrovert I like the social engagement, building relatiionships, understanding other's perspectives, and sharing experiences which aligns pretty well with that approach. #UTcommtheory
