As someone who has been punched in the face with a giant maglite by a (surprise! Chicago) cop for asking “…wait what?”, I will just point out here the entire interaction is recorded. So, as I’ve argued before, if there was an assault, just show the video. (They can’t because there was no assault.)

Perhaps equally as amazing (…I’m not catholic after all), I got to walk the Vatican Museum with @naomioreskes.bsky.social 🤯

I didn’t really understand the importance of the Pope until I had the freak opportunity to attend a Pontifical Academy of Sciences meeting in the last year of my PhD. We’ll see what the white smoke brings next, but hopefully whoever it is carries Pope Francis’s love for the environment with them.
