I enjoy probabilistic inference and modeling and gamedev. Currently working in the industry. Used to work on TensorFlow Probability.

I also maintain the Allegro game library.

Made a infinite mirror for a glass dinner table. It uses a broken down Hyperspace HyperCube mirrors/LED strips/controller + a 3D printed/painted housing of my own design. Powered by 2 18650 lithium cells. It is mounted under the table. I think it came out pretty well!

My balance controller seems to be messed up, but at least the moves are good.

My robot is now wireless! There is a Python HTTP server running on the Raspberry Pi receiving control signals from a PC that has a controller connected to it. In the future, I will rewrite the server in Rust for speed, and switch to autonomous control.

So the trick to a more stable walking gait was to reduce how high the feet were lifted. I have a new design for feet in mind, but otherwise the next step is to untether the robot with onboard power and microcontroller!

Gotta love me some PD controllers. Going back to improving the gait of my robot (in simulation first), this time via control theory. Reinforcement Learning isn't working out so well at the moment.

Crystal Commune was made (graphics and all, except fonts/music) in 3 days back in 2023. It's a little city builder where you coax animals to mine crystals for you. Certainly one of the cutest games I have made to date.

After a bit of tuning today, things are working a bit better. The goal here is to get it good enough to bootstrap some reinforcement learning that should clean up the movement quite a bit.

The very first movement on the ground of this robot was less than glamorous. I had to tune the gait a bit to get to the movement in the previous video.

First steps of my first mobile robot. The gait is very primitive at this point, hence the extreme wobbliness. A lot of work remains to be done!
