Keep coming back to this bird, found by myself & @ianfoster1971.bsky.social in October 2019 in Hartlepool. Only seen in the field. No DNA. Never really settled in my mind. Very small sandy bird... @stephbirdart.bsky.social

After speculation that the South Gare Bluethroat could possibly be one of the eastern races I decided to try to get a faecal sample & ask if Martin Collinson was interested in testing.
The culprit was caught red handed.

Had a medical test at Redcar today so decided to bird South Gare. I of course had to take another look at the OBP while I was there. It certainly didn't let me down. Seems to be getting more confiding.

Great to see the Pechora Pipit at Trow Quarry today. I could only manage flight views, but this shot does show the extensive white in T5 which I believe is a diagnostic Pechora feature
