Also, while immigrants are central to many sectors of the US economy, their role in tech is absolutely essential. From 2000 - 2014, *more than 70%* of tech workers in Silicon Valley were foreign born.

I find that high-wage tech workers built solidarity with the broader working class by using tech's specific discourse to expand their ethical commitments across three structural obstacles -- status, occupation, and firm
