This also works as a Meshnet: similarly configured radios nearby would relay the messages.
Could be useful in emergency situations if there is a power loss with Cell Phone Towers.

There must be a 4-channel VU meter if you use a Quadrophonic system.
Because I'm quite "visual"! Also very interesting to see how exactly things are panned for example on the excellent Suzanne Ciani's Live Quadrophonic album. No, that album is not from the seventies. Just a couple of years old.
