Obsessed with this website note. Gonna try it.

The state of this.

oh yeah, Top Gun style. I'm sure I know what this note means in my novel *set in Victorian London*.

Made such a delightful mess trimming my bowls this morning.

I'm at the obsessive stage of pottery and throwing where I am gonna read everything about it. Clay is such a great book, if you have any interest in ceramics. It really digs deep into our connection with earth and why we make things. 🏺🍽️ uk.bookshop.org/a/13196/9781...

Celina is such a strange little book, based on true events, about a young girl who works as a chambermaid for Victor Hugo while he's living in exile in Guernsey. I really enjoyed the subtle power shifts throughout. The design is beautiful, too. 📝🧹 uk.bookshop.org/a/13196/9781...

My first Jilly! Look, apart from *that* scene, and the general awfulness of Rupert C-B (which has been dialled down enormously in the latest TV version of Rivals), Riders was such a good read. She's so good at plotting. 🏇🍆 uk.bookshop.org/a/13196/9780...

I loved Brandy Sour (what a beautiful cover), a short collection of vignettes about a hotel in Cyprus, telling stories of residents and employees through different drinks and liquids. It's such an original book. 🥃🏨 uk.bookshop.org/a/13196/9781...

Just a joy from start to finish. Every bit of me is in this.

Going to make a cup of tea in my brand new mug. I threw it, I trimmed it, I glazed it. I love it 😍🤩😭

Well this is lovely. My feature on khachapuri in Kutaisi has been shortlisted for an Inspire Global Media Award! Wishing good vibes and pillowy cheese bread to all of the nominees. event.inspireglobal.travel/award-catego...

Ceramics class was so much fun today! Positively giddy at how much mess I got to make.

The Covenant of Water is pushing 1000 pages and yet it never felt like a slog. It's such a bold book, largely about medicine and colonialism, but with so much heart in it. 💧💊 uk.bookshop.org/a/13196/9781...

You know how those internet bores complain about the blurbs at the start of recipes? A Thousand Feasts is basically nothing but those AND IT'S BRILLIANT. 🥘🥓 uk.bookshop.org/a/13196/9780...

At the opposite end of the scale, Drift by Caryl Lewis is actually really quite sad, but it's so utterly beautiful. It has strong Clear vibes, and that was my fave book of '24. 🌊🚣‍♂️ uk.bookshop.org/a/13196/9781...

Look, if you're a bit sad about the state of things atm and you want something quite basic and lovely, David Nicholls is your guy. You Are Here was exactly what I needed this week. 🥾⛰️ uk.bookshop.org/a/13196/9781...
