But will it change? I doubt it for the mixed-gacha space, but I think we’ll be seeing the rise of more high quality husbando gachas ( ARPG or other genre than just otome ) new companies might try.

If the game doesn't know how to advertise itself and the male characters too to attract the girls of course we won't spend on them, why should we if there is nothing to spend on? Or when it is it is not on said male character related patch?
