yourself. your personality, quirks and the parts that make you unique as a human get lost under the weight of this label you want to be defined as.

what im really trying to say is that i want to be known to people as just "shykitten" instead of "shykitten - VRDJ"

this as its just some insane rambling about my journey and perspective on the scene with only a little thought put behind the first part :3 the rest is just stuff i wrote down now.

im not bothered.

since starting djing ive made quite a few friends not just connecting with enjoyment for music but through other shared interests too makes me happy. it was not my goal or intention at all but just a happy side product of my little hobby!

suck all the fun out of it and turn it into a job.

playing to a full instance or at a cool club feels great, but weirdly i dont care that much. id much rather stay true to the music and vibe i enjoy instead of chasing something that im not, if what i do finds an audience then great but if doesnt

what ive discovered over time instead of 100% being my initial motivation, at the end of the day djing itself is fun along with the feeling you get after. i view it as hobby if you are playing on vrchat, which means you should try your best but never compare yourself to others too hard as it will

in a dark space so you feel more comfortable doing what you want to do instead of feeling scared. in a lot of clubs i feel watched instead of seen if that makes sense, so i think id really like to create a place where everyone feels welcome and safe to dance.

i would say that a lot of this is

to english speakers who also attend it frequently and looking back at it, it felt like we all bonded over losing our "home". i never really realized this until now but i guess i enjoy the community aspect of things even if no one speaks at the club, its about the feeling of dancing with others

july 2022, but i never found a place like it that resonated with me as deeply in terms of the music and vibe for the close to a year i considered it "dead" which is when i started to look into djing to be able to dance to the music i love the most in vr. during the downtime of gc, i got a lot closer

my original motivation behind starting djing was to kinda fill the hole that gc left after it stopped running frequently, this also had the effect of me fulfilling some creative output which i really enjoyed even if it was just replacing photography at events. i was fairly late to gc starting in
