I got a wild hair after watching some YouTube videos and am playing with acrylic paint pours. I still struggle with the artistic choices but I appreciate a technique that can be mastered like this.

I tried the stairs in the Dallas Sheraton south tower so you don’t have to. They are positively haunted - dark, full of debris and cobwebs, and don’t go anywhere useful on the low floors. I had to go back up to 4 to get to the lobby.

I’ve always enjoyed icanbedanny on twitch. He has a weekly paint along stream on Mondays called paint good. It came to twitchcon live and I did the thing. I’ve never done a traditional painting before and it like.. almost worked? I would like to try this more.

Eclipse viewing here was pretty good! This was much easier to see in person than to photo. I regret not trying manual mode though - that might have helped. Pics from both a camera obscura and direct through a solar filter.

I really enjoyed Dr. Dinky! Seems like this time period (1940s?) had some really fun and strange design. I wanted to learn more about the doctor in particular. So weird! I found these in Google.

Had a really awesome time in San Diego with @pupsaur.bsky.social this weekend. Took Amtrak down and got to see so many cool sights with my love. Mothership was the highlight. If you like tiki bars and sci-fi, don’t wait to see this cool bar.

The Grand Central Air Terminal was built in 1928 and is associated with some surprising names in aviation history. It’s where Lindbergh started the service that became TWA, and Hughes started Hughes Corp. After WWII, it went into decline, closing in 1959. It’s now part of a business park.
