Annnnnd I just had a decent run with randoms and it was… pretty fun. Still not a fan though. But maybe I was a bit harsh?

Hmm idk. I think the last two may not be as good. Still good though

Fallout is probably one of the best action movies of the generation. And that’s after watching the latest movie. Still think fallout is the best of the series

I think the opposite. they had to digitally remove it in reshoots for Justice League. But the mustache was legit in Fallout

And in that way I feel E33 boils down to one specific action. Making the depth of combat feel artificial sometimes. I’m not saying E33 is bad a game. But i think when compared to the likes of persona and games like FF10. It doesn’t hold up to that sort of scrutiny

E33 def is inspired by a lot of what persona has done. And that’s why the combat is so stylistic and honestly good. While your build matters, the larger part of success in combat comes down to QTEs. You can get pass most any enemy regardless of your build so has long as you parry everything

Well the personas. You can capture a bunch of different personas which can then be mix and matched with others personas creating unique builds which translate into battle. 100% reliant on your build and approach to each combat scenario

As for not counting BG3 because of its combat mechanics. Would be like not putting E33 vs turn based combat because it has real time action mechanics.

I disagree. I think E33 does a lot of things well. But it’s moment to moment gameplay becomes pretty repetitive. I like the parry, dodge, jump mechanics but the combat relies way to heavily on those things. It’s a good game. I just don’t see the generational JRPG people keep talking about.

Not sure how you arrived at me not being glad people are enjoying that. But turn based RPGs have been very relevant in modern gaming. Octopath, BG3, persona, Like A Dragon, Dragon Quest, refantazio, Fire emblem, bravely default, shin megami, wasteland 3, divinity games, triangle strategy, pillars
