And what happens to those who are only able to work a little or intermittently, which right now would supplement their benefits, which are below the poverty line. If they got thrown into a program with a lower baseline pay, they would be harmed significantly.

I had the same question and many more, including why would they appoint doctors when many will have docs that know them well. I just wrote this letter to my MLA about the concerns that I have about this program and what I think more useful alternatives would be. This is clearly not in good faith.

Thank you for speaking up about this issue. The UCP has responded to public pressure about disability issues in the past so I encourage everyone to write letters, even if you have a UCP representative.

You’re welcome. It’s pretty terrifying for people on disability right now. They also have recently made cuts in grants to four disability advocacy agencies so it seems they’re targeting this group.
