If I could only ever use one it'd be Greaves. I have a hard time justifying Boots unless I'm playing a deck that explicitly targets my commander, like Zada or Cloud. Speaking of which, I watched someone real time learn about the cons of shroud when playing their unmodified FF deck.

I think commander is in the best place it's ever been. Ever since the brackets rolled out, my games have been better than ever! My concern with magic atm is the volume of product and that all of the UB products will soon start pricing players out of the game, but those aren't commander specific.
