If we couldn't win with the candidate and campaign we ran then we couldn't win. There is a fortress of misinformation the GOP has built and we just have not found a way through it.

He's not in office yet for the next Congress, and I saw something from some Florida election official that said he can't "pre-resign" his next term. Could be phony, though, I'm happy to be wrong.

Actually it's worse. He's only resigned for this term. He's already been elected to the next term. So he'll be sworn back in on the 3rd anyway.

Hate to bring bad news but he could run on his own replacement election. Like a fungus.
