Betty Crocker cookbook. It’s simple and balanced with ordinary ingredients and traditional herb seasoning. (I like it with giblets and extra celery, but some folks don’t like that.)

I have little experience with gluten-free baking, but an acquaintance who has tried many products and recipes strongly recommends King Arthur flours. Also, I whizzed up some oatmeal really fine in the food processor to use as oat flour for apple muffins. The taste, texture and appearance were great.

Now follow up with My Friends. A little sad, but very sweet.

While acknowledging that censorship is a serious problem & hoping all schools have good procedures in place to stop it, please be encouraged that some (many?) U.S. teachers ARE explicitly teaching media literacy. Common Sense Media is one good resource; no doubt there are others as well.

Back in 2009 NPR did a great series on low-cost recipes — “How Low Can You Go?” I still use that Chilean Dal recipe often simply because it’s delicious!

I was never a clubbing person as a youth, but I did go to First Ave twice when living in Minneapolis. It was around 1984ish & as I walked down the wide stairway I spied very wide-leg purple bell-bottoms with giant purple spangles. Then I looked at the person. As you can guess — Prince. No entourage.

I bawled through most of Madame Butterfly because I couldn’t believe a human being could sing and perform like that for hours with very few breaks. I’m a “team sports gal” who admires opera singers as trained athletes besides being artists. Put opera on your bucket list! Remarkable.
