the narrative does such a good job handling this trope i would argue it's a masterclass at it tbh. it uses it well without being an asshole about it

also his original weight is drawn in a really cute way. like, he's meant to ALWAYS be cute, regardless of his weight.

ALSO also, his change is based solely on his own HEALTHY hard work! he doesn't starve himself or "grow out of it" -- he decides to better himself on his own
