I've known Dr. Ajith through some friends who were his students, and they're all devastated. Dr. Ajith was an incredible mentor, with unwavering support for young/old folks who wanted to chart out their own paths in wildlife research in India. He leaves behind a gaping hole in hundreds of hearts.

There's a gentleman in Chennai, who sometimes sends me pictures and videos of marine wildlife that he spots from his neighbourhood beach. Over the past month, it's mostly been dead olive ridley turtles washing ashore. A few days ago, he sent me this video of dolphins - definitely not dead 😍
