Gaming addict, mostly Football Manager, some other games at which I'm absolutely awful.

Football, Football Manager and books. That's about it really.

"golden charm offensive" otherwise known as bribery / paying tribute to the don

Absolutely fucking mental that this is just accepted as normality

Book 48, 1177 BC: The Year Civilisation Collapsed by Eric Cline (narrated by the author)

4/5

Not a period of history I've given much thought to previously but found this super interesting.

Book 47, Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin

5/5

Rounding up from 4.5. Beautiful writing. I'd recommend watching a couple of interviews with Baldwin before reading it - I found the prose so much more poignant when hearing it in my head with his accent and cadence

Like this basically... I want to try out the 3-diamond-1 with wingbacks IP and just find a way for each OOP shape to transition into it without it going mad #fm26

I've still played only one match on #fm26. I just find the game so demotivating

But I can't help thinking of OOP and IP possibilities opened up by the new tactics options - even if the ME is still a bit yikes

Thinking 4-1-4-1 OOP into 3-diamond-1 with wingbacks IP

See on this Player Stats screen post-match... how can you get it to show your team? #fm26
November 8, 2025 at 11:33 PM
Got to a match, the pre-match stuff looks decent. Stadiums look *much* better

And I really like the 2d overview between highlights

I do not like this between highlights screen having a blank background rather than the paused match. Feels like you're removed from the match #fm26

I don't need a Trivial Pursuit pie for reputation either. The text is fine

As I'm starting to explore the game I keep finding little graphics that I absolutely despise

Like, what the fuck is the point of this on the squad screen? The text is all I need. The graphic is superfluous and just uses up space on the row. Get rid and let me add custom columns ffs #fm26

I still haven't pressed Continue ffs #fm26

Since then, all they've done is get rid of the facegen #fm26

Look, I know it's not a big deal at all, but the ordering on lists is just irritating. What is this order for regions? #fm26

Three weeks on the bounce I take a -4 but I just enjoy making transfers and I couldn't decide between Mateta and Joao Pedro - so went with them both

Only remaining decision is captain. Sticking with Haaland seems sensible but boring. Tempted by Timber or Gabriel

Nevermind, just spotted this. Game changer. Installing beta now

Hahahahaha, this is so, so bad

The Steam reviews tomorrow are going to be brutal #fm26

Tempted to stick Josh King in for Caicedo. Home to Wolves but was dropped last week for Smith-Rowe. I think Fulham have a bunch of injuries though and home to Wolves...

I fucking hope this is not what is being euphemistically referred to as the "international module" for the pc version of #fm26

not quite, an improvement but not quite.

Like this from 24 - the actual game pitch is behind the tablet. With the tablet smaller it's more obvious and useful for feeling like you're still part of the match

Book 46, Tremor of Forgery by Patricia Highsmith

4/5

Enjoyed it even though very little happens and it lacks the intensity of suspense in other Highsmith books. Interesting set of realistically dislikeable characters and the classic Highsmith antagonist-protagonist

no, only some of them

This was the same issue I was having with Austria before
