rugs and lamps absolutely carry a room imo. my living room came together not when i got pictures up, but when i got a nice rug, candles, softer lighting, and rearranged the furniture to eliminate huge swaths of empty space. men just need to put like 30 mins into a room and it will look 10x better

i had friends who tried to do this, but unfortunately the world is so dependent on them that eventually you usually need to switch back. :(

mostly! so if i, for example, stayed on the main mastodon server, i can still follow other accounts on other servers but i wouldnt be able to directly interact with them?

im not really understanding where there are servers that i would like to follow that align with my interests and whether they are open or invite only. on top of that im not sure of the benefits of joining multiple servers or whether there are ones where a single server is sufficient for my interests
