but there’s blood and gore !! strange biology !!!! explicit monster/human gay romance !!!!!! i have been having a BLAST writing this, and i’m so thrilled to nearly have it in a state to start properly sharing ♥️
a summary of an (in progress) novel. text reads: a lone and peaceful woodsman wakes up to the sound of screaming outside his cabin in the dead of night. he hasn't seen anyone else out there in over a decade, so he's immediately out the door, flashlight and nearest weapon in hand, and he sees- something not quite human. bipedal, yes, but with sharp antlers, with fangs dripping blood, some poor person's ribs cracked open under its hands. and before he can even finishing processing the scene in front of him, the creature in front him starts talking. explaining his situation, pleading with him for help. and to their mutual surprise, the man is listening. responding. lowering his weapon. the second half of the summary. text reads: he doesn't trust the creature in front of him, given the corpse at its feet, but... he can't leave a body this close to his home anyway. besides, he'd heard the rumours and stories about strange monsters rising from the depths of the chasm, far east into the woods. he’s seen the glowing fungi and noticed the odd behaviours of the woodland creatures lately. and worse, if this seemingly dangerous beast is asking for his assistance in taking down its own prey, the threat at hand must be serious. how could he possibly deny a cry for help?
